Project Briefing
This week we started our Collaborative Project, unfortunately i was ill for a lot of the week so i couldn’t attend the Project Briefing on Monday and some of the other meetings. To make up for this i created a WhatsApp group for our team to communicate through and watched the videos that where recorded to catch up.
Our team also created a Miro board to plan our research and brainstorm ideas for our project and each chose research tasks to work on.

Project Briefing Academic Sources
This week we decided our group project would be a self powering interactive children’s toy which would teach about power generation and green energy.
I researched lots of different types of energy generation we could use for our robot, including piezoelectric (using vibrations, mechanical stress to generate energy), DC motors (turning the shaft using mechanical force to generate electricity) and solar panels.
We also had the project briefing for our Research Report Proposal.

This week we began to further plan what functions our project would have, we decided it would have a hand crank to generate energy with a DC motor, two solar panels to passively charge the robot and a piezoelectric button for an alternative less efficient way to generate power through mechanical action.

This week we started prototyping our robot, with two of us working on the app design, two of us working on the circuitry and electronics and I started designing the 3D files for the project based on 2d concepts created by the group the week before.

This week continued with our prototyping, i finished the first 3d test design finished and got it printed.

Show and Tell
This week i designed, printed and tested some improved parts for the robot.
I unfortunately though i couldn’t attend the Show and Tell due to a medical appointment.

This week i finished the final design for the robot and got it printed. I incorporated suggestions from the feedback received from children and their parents during the testing week.

This week i finished the documentation for the group project including working on the task documentation/presentation slides.
Later in the week though i had 2 more medical appointments and started on some medicine that made me unable to finish the coursework in time for submission, so i rested as much as i could and used my extension to allow me to continue work when i felt better.
